I' writing a research paper (that is technically more philophy than research) that is comparing the Universe and the Internet. Basically, I am stating that the internet is essentially a man made universe. However, I'm not sure if I have enough information to back it up. I was thinking along the lines of the infinite expansion. However, anything at all will help. I just need some more comparison points to support my statement. Sorry, I know it's probably not the typical question you guys might get. However anything that helps to define the Internet will help. Anything at all that comes to mind when you think about the Internet. Thank you.

you should probably check out some of the shows in the Net Cafe collection which might give you some good background on the Net as a universe

Hi,

Very good question. The comparison topic is great for the reseach. In order to answer that questions we will need to understand the universe first. It is still a evolving topic. I found out a good discussion on the topic of creation of universe at http://slate.msn.com/id/2100715/

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
KD

This would make a good magazine feature too :). Maybe one thing to consider would be the universe's 'technology'. Like all those constants, have remained pretty.. kinda.. constant. So people can define rules to.. most.. fundamental things. While the behind the curtain smoke and mirrors, and fundamentals of the internet change all the time.

Then again, maybe universe's fundamentals are changing too.. and we don't notice those either.. aghh.. :)
